The Wilier/Live2Ride Team are proud to announce new co-sponsor Live 2 Ride who are a Wilier dealer based in Frome, Somerset.
Preparations for 2012 have been well underway with the team and sponsorship now confirmed. The Wilier/Live2Ride Team are proud to announce new co-sponsor Live 2 Ride who are a Wilier dealer based in Frome, Somerset who alongside ATB Sales Ltd will be supporting the team in the forthcoming year. The team is also pleased to welcome former shirt sponsor of Bristol Rovers FC, Design Windows as a sub sponsor.
Led by former Olympian Ben Luckwell the team are excited to announce its expansion to eleven riders with the signing of six new riders which include current Junior National Champion Dan Pearson to assist with building on the teams success in 2011.
New riders include:
Dan Pearson
Ben Lamb
Charlie Bradley
Anna Fischer
Tavis Walker
Toby Eichler
Speaking with Ben Luckwell, he explained “Our aim for 2012 is to take onboard a number of new young talented riders, who in races have shown strength and ambition, which combined with the wealth of experience from riders that have been the core of the team since it was first formed should prove to be a formula for success. Most of the riders are based locally within the Bristol area and a real emphasis is being placed this winter on the team training together, with training camps planned throughout January and February 2012 to ensure that everyone is well prepared for the start of next years race season”.
Speaking with Tavis Walker, former rider of the Adeo Cadence Race Team we asked “Why are you looking forward to racing with the Wilier/Live2ride team? Having ridden myself cross eyed at various races last season riding against Wilier, I was very pleased to be invited to join the team for 2012.”
“I am looking forward to riding with and learning from the experienced riders within the team. Knowing that I will race for Wilier/Live2ride next season has given me extra motivation to train hard through winter so that I can play my part fully, throughout the whole of next season and assist the team to build on its previous very successful record. I have already been enjoying the banter on the weekly team training rides into the depths of Somerset and South Wales. I have always admired the quality of Wilier bikes so it is an added bonus to be able to race on the Wilier Cento 1, on top of the support already in place from the rest of the teams sponsors”.
All of the riders will be racing on the prestigous Italian Wilier Cento 1, equipped with a Campagnolo 11 speed Super Record Groupset, Fulcrum Racing Zero Wheels and Schwalbe Tyres. The team kit is provided by Kalas Sportswear, Met Helmets and Sunwise sun glasses. The aim for the team throughout 2012 is to compete in the top UK Road Races and Criteriums. The riders are excited and optimistic at success throughout the season and are looking forward to kicking the season off with The Perfs Pedal Race in February and Severn Bridge Road Race in March.
