Course V214 - A168/A19 Topcliffe-South Kilvington-Topcliffe
START approximately 1.8 miles north of Topcliffe village, in the slip road leading from the Shell Garage/Little Chef on the A168 northbound carriageway, by a BT manhole cover just before telegraph pole no. 58 (TAKE CARE WHEN JOINING MAIN CARRIAGEWAY). Proceed along A168/A19 for 4.33 miles to junction signposted, ‘A168 Northallerton’. Follow the slip road down, where left to roundabout; take the fourth exit, signposted, ‘York, Wetherby A19 (A168)’ to join the dual-carriageway (5 miles) and retrace southwards. FINISH just south of the Start, at hedge junction approximately 100 metres beyond the Jet service station buildings, on the exit slip road (10 miles).
NB Riders must stay on the main carriageway when passing the Finish and must not stop. Leave the A168 where signposted at the slip road to Topcliffe.
Headquarters and Car Parking
Event HQ is Dalton Village Hall. This will be open from 12.30 am. Parking is available both at the front and rear of the hall and along the road outside, however a new residential development has restricted parking along the road. Please try not to double park on this road and please show consideration to the residents of the village if you are unable to park in the area of the HQ. The results board and refreshments will be in the hall.
Signing-on and numbers is at the HQ from approximately 12.30 am. Please return numbers to the HQ for a free drink of tea or coffee.
Start Directions
On leaving the HQ car park turn right and follow the road downhill taking an immediate right turn (with care) into the village centre. Follow this road until reaching a T junction (signposted Topcliffe 2 miles). Turn left in the direction of Topcliffe and follow this road until reaching the T junction with the A168 slip road. Take a left turn (with care) head under the carriageway. Immediately turn right (with care) on to the slip road to A168.
Space at the start is severely restricted so please time your arrival for no more than 5 minutes before your start time. It takes approximately 5 minutes to cover the distance from joining the A168 to the Filling station. Riders will be held in a coned off area at the Filling Station prior to being called to the starter. There can be no riding or warming up in the Filling Station or the adjacent Little Chef and there is no parking here for competitors. Please do not restrict the entry and exit of the petrol station.
