The organiser regrets to announce that the Finchley RT Paul Simon Homes race on May 7th has been cancelled, on the grounds of safety. While most of the floods have now receded, there are emergency roadworks near the Viper Pub, blocking half the road, with parked trucks, which will still be
in place on Monday. I rode the circuit this morning, and the stretch near the Viper Pub is definitely not race safe.
We will be checking out possible dates to run the race later in the year, and I will advise everyone if we are successful in finding a suitable date. My apologies for this late notice, we had hoped that the circuit would dry out in time, but the new roadworks effectively put the matter beyond doubt.
Entry fees will be refunded over the next two weeks, as I cashed all your cheques on Friday, and will now have to get a new cheque book (or
two) to refund. If you paid by Bank Transfer, please let me have your bank details, and I will refund directly.
