To recap, James’ winter and 2012 pre season build up had been progressing very well in spite of recurring mystery pain and numbness in his right leg which first came to light late last season. Into 2012 his condition worsened becoming increasingly more difficult to manage as the racing season picked up and the efforts became more intense, prompting James to seek specialist medical advice.

After his specialist’s investigations James was then referred to a Vascular surgeon who diagnosed Iliac artery endofibrosis, a condition which was substantially restricting blood flow to the leg. James has just undergone surgery to correct this, and everything appears to have gone well. Recovery will mean one month off, before bike riding can begin again. We are all very hopeful of seeing James return to racing in the later part of this season.

We wish him the best of luck, and good wishes for an speedy recovery, and look forward to his return.
