Results: Ciclos Uno Veteran’s Summer Series Event 6

Martin Meades and Peter Constable the winners of each LVRC race for week 6 of the Ciclos Uno Veteran’s Summer Series at Redbridge (July 26)

Thanks to Knocker Shields for the following … On a very hot sunny evening 23 riders took to the start line. With the absences of Antony Wallis, there was no breakaway after the first lap which is normally Antony Wallis format. There were several breakaway attempts during the race all were short lived owing to the overall speed of the race.

With 2 laps to go Matt Gallagher (Crest CC) made a solo breakaway, at the bell he had no more the 15 sec but alas he was swallowed up with half a lap to go and make it a 20 + bunch sprint, won by Martin Meades (Ciclos Uno).

The race stayed all together even with hotly contested prime sprint but still it stayed in one bunch, until the last lap, when Peter Constable (Velo Schils / Interbike) took a flyer from the bunch to take a well-deserved solo win.
