Results: Corley Cycles Summer Series

There was good racing at the Milton Keynes Bowl for the Corley Cycles Summer Series on Thursday night with riders glad to see the sun after last weeks swampy race!

Youth Ben Chapman (Team Corley Cycles/Blue) took the win in the E/1/2/3 race just edging out Roger Browne (Beeline Bikes RT) on the line. The pair were part of a trio that managed to escape the bunch around the midway point, the other escapee being Anthony Moye (Velo29). Using a more technical loop of the Bowl circuit including a 180 degree turn the breakaway riders managed to pull out a decent sized gap which wouldn’t be brought back.

Matt Jones (Team Corley Cycles/Blue) attempted to bridge but left it too late, attacking out of his group with 5 laps to go. In the 3/4 race for the most part it all stayed together and ended up in a bunch kick for the win. Glenn McMenamin (Twenty3c.co.uk) outsprinted George Davidson (Kenilworth Wheelers) by half a wheel, with Pete Humphries (RAF CC) claiming third, a couple of bike lengths back.
