This Weekend! British Time Trial Championships

Dowsett, Bottrill, Hutchinson, Rowe, Shaw and Houvenaghel just a few of the stars in 2012 British TT Championships in the East Midlands on September 2

The event held near Somerby Hill in the East Midlands sees a full day of racing from 9am in the morning for the Veterans into the afternoon when the stars of British time trialling will battle it out for the right to wear the champion’s jersey in time trials in 2012/2013.

Race Details

Timekeepers: Sue Bowler, Bill Stanley, Steve Custance, Jim York

Headquarters: Hose Village Hall Leicestershire LE14 4JR

Parking: Plenty of parking at Village Hall and sports field taking care not to damage the ground.

Start
Please travel to the start through Harby village, along Stathern Lane to turn right, with care, up Harby Lane then through Stathern village to turn first left up Stathern Hill. Toilets are available near the Start.

Please do not warm up on the course during the event.

There are quiet roads to the north of Harby and south of Eaton (these are quite hilly)

COURSE AS/18 Map below
Full Circuit: Start on Belvoir Rd. east of Stathern/Eaton cross roads. Proceed to Belvoir Castle car park where turn left, (be aware of traffic joining from right directly after the turn.) Proceed to Redmile cross roads where turn left with care. Proceed along Long Lane, passing finish, to Harby where turn left up Waltham Lane to Eastwell cross roads where turn left. Proceed through Eastwell to Start area

Finish Circuit: is identical to full circuit but ending just before Penn Lane on Long Lane, east of Harby.
The course has five corners each needing care. The course has three sharp turns after descents, two after leaving Eastwell and one just before the Belvoir area

Ladies, Juniors, Espoirs and Masters: One full circuit plus finish circuit.

Senior Men: Two full circuits plus finish circuit.
