On the September 29, Stirling Bike Club will be promoting an exciting new event, Up the Kirk Hill Climb, Logie Kirk, Stirling
![]() |
This is a cycling hill climb up the infamous Logie Kirk, and will test riders to their limits to see who be the fastest. There will be a Youth race starting from 9am and a senior race from 10.30am.
The event is being very generously supported by local businesses Falcon Food Service Equipment and Stirling Cycle Repairs, without their support this event would not be happening. We have a significant prize fund, and depending on final entry numbers hope to offer an overall 1st place prize of £200. There will also be separate prize funds for each youth category, women and vets so well worth a trip to compete.
Due to the nature of Hill Climbs they are ideal for spectators to come along and get involved. UP the Kirk is not only an event for those who want to compete, but will be a great event for all, as there are several sections where you can get a good view of some of Scotland’s top cyclists battling is out to see who will become King of the Kirk!
We will also have a small events area where Stirling Cycle Repairs will have a stand carrying minor repairs and tweaks to competitor’s bike and selling essential items. There will be quality coffee on offer courtesy of The Coffee Van and food available too.
So, either get that bike out of the shed and pump up the tyres and get an entry in, or dig out the air horns and cowbells and come along and show your support. The youth race will be hotly contested and is an excellent opportunity for all ages to get a taste of the sport of cycling. Either way put the 29th of September in your diary and come along to Logie Kirk for a fun morning.
For more information on the event and how to enter please go to our website (http://logiekirk.stirlingbikeclub.org.uk/), or follow us on twitter @upthekirk or Facebook.
Once again a huge thanks to our sponsors Falcon Food Service Equipment & Stirling Cycle Repairs
