Paul Hughes writes … It was a favourable morning with no wind giving 16 riders improvement on their 25 time. Good winning ride by Stephen Walkling of VC St Raphael (52:29) with Gary Dighton and Terry Icke of Poole Wheelers just 23 and 25 seconds behind respectively (52:52 and 52:54). Well done to the Poole Wheelers for getting the Team result with Gary Dighton, Terry Icke and Andy Buddle (2:39:46).

The new VTTA standards, which are not so generous to riders of a certain age, didnt stop Terry Icke of Poole Wheelers winning the Vet Standard with a plus of 19:17.
Sadly only two lady riders and one junior. Fastest lady was Lesley Walkling of VC St Raphael (57:28) with Lou Dutch of Poole Wheelers (58:31) just over a minute behind. A creditable ride by Luke Davies of VC St Raphael (58:02) gave him 19th out of the 44 finishers.

Many thanks to the timekeepers, pusher, marshalls and HQ helpers for their time without which this event couldnt happen.
