The team go into the race after a phenomenally successful season, with over 40 stage, team and overall victories so far on the continent and at home. The team are the highest ranked Continental outfit in the UCI Europe Tour rankings in 7th place and Jon Tiernan-Locke is now in 3rd place in the rider rankings. The riders have recently returned home after a high altitude training camp in the Pyrenees to hone their form for the 9th edition of Endura’s home tour.
Alex Sans Vega (Sporting Director): As a Scottish team this is the most important event of the year for us and our hopes are high for results where we’re aiming for stage wins and an overall podium spot.
We have had a great season so far and we have selected a strong, balanced team. We have riders for sprints (Downing and Dempster), breakaways (Voß and Bibby) and riders for the GC (Camaño and Tiernan-Locke), this means we will be covering all the areas and everyone will support each other to get the best result every day.
Besides sporting element, this a great time for our sponsors and partners to be close to the team and breathe the atmosphere of racing and spend time with us, which is which is very important for the team too.
UCI Road World Championships
Jon Tiernan-Locke and Scott Thwaites (U23) have both been included in Great Britain’s long-list for the road races at the UCI Road World Championships to be held in Limburg, The Netherlands on 22nd and 23rd September. The final selections are due to be announced by British Cycling shortly.
UCI Mountain Bike World Championships
Endura MTB Racing’s Oli Beckingsale is heading to Austria this week for the UCI Mountain Bike World Championships where he has been selected to represent Great Britain for a 17th time.
