News: 600 entries for West Midland Cyclo Cross League

Over 600 riders will converge on the Shrewsbury Sports Village this Sunday 23rd September for Round 2 of the Waldrons Solicitors West Midland Cyclo Cross League.

Racing starts at 10.15am with Race 1 the under 8s and under 10s followed shortly by Race 2 for under 12s. Race 3 is a combined Veterans 50+ , Women and under 18 Juniors.

The most important race of the day for the Mid Shropshire Junior Team, with the largest number of local riders, is Race 4 for under 16, under 14 boys and a combined under 14 and under 16 girls race.

Ewan Grivell-Mellor (pictured right) will be looking to consolidate his lead in the Waldrons West Midlands under 16sLeague after a convincing win at the first race at Redditch.

Final race of the day is at 2.15 where Wrekinsport rider Andy Tamplin will hope to keep the local flag flying with the absence of local Cyclo Cross ace Luke Grivell – Mellor (Rapha-Condor-Sharp) missing due to preparations for his final race of the season in Trinidad and Tobago.
