Haibike, the German high performance bike brand, has appointed Raleigh UK as its exclusive distributor for the UK and Ireland markets for 2013 and beyond.

Susanne and Felix Puello established Haibike in 1996 in Schweinfurt, Germany with the goal of delivering high performance bikes with cutting-edge technology. This vision is still inherent in the company today with the recent launch of its e:i shock, the world’s first intelligent electronic suspension system, as well as the company’s pioneering work on its Xduro range of performance e-bikes.
The e.i revolutionary suspension system was born out of a collaboration with Rock Shox to create an intelligent, computer-controlled rear shock system which automatically adjusts to the rider and terrain, optimising its performance for every condition.
Meanwhile, the Xduro range brings pedal-assisted cycling to the serious off-road market with a range of full suspension, hard tail 26”, 29” and 700c models. Further cementing their credentials in the high performance market, Haibike also invest in athlete endorsement, sponsoring professional riders Kathrin Stirnemann, Tereza Hurikova and London Olympic cross country silver medallist Sabine Spitz.
“With Haibike’s position as a performance brand, this new introduction provides an excellent compliment to our current bike brand portfolio. This commercial partnership has developed from the recent acquisition of Raleigh Group by Accell and we expect further collaborative ventures to be realised going forward, ”said Mark Gouldthorp, Raleigh UK Managing Director.
“Haibike have taken time to ensure that they are effectively represented in the UK and are excited with the commitment and enthusiasm shown by Raleigh to support our brand in an important market,” said Susi Puello, Haibike Managing Director.
Those interested in Haibike can have a first look at the range as part of Raleigh’s presence at the upcoming Cycle Show at the NEC Birmingham, 27th – 30th September 2012.
