Team News: Busy weekend for Hargroves Cycles Riders

From Jon Dibben finishing 5th in the Men’s Junior RR World Championship to cyclo-cross back home, Hargroves Cycles riders have been busy

This weekend was a busy one for the Hargroves Cycles team with the cyclo-cross season well under way and the road season coming to its conclusion. Jon Dibben made the weekend with a storming ride in the Junior World Road Race championships in Limburg.

Jon came from doing mainly track based work this summer to pull out a brilliant 5th in the road race. Capping a hugely successful season both on the track and road!

Our team has started the cyclo cross season around the world, Ian Field is in America starting his season. His first 2 races he took two 2nd places both behind Nicolas Bazin in Charm city. In the Hargroves Cycles Swindon Cross we had an extremely successful day in horrible, cold, wet and muddy conditions. The day started with Ben Tulett winning the U12 race then his brother followed suit winning the youth race by some distance!

Matt Hargroves kept the roll going in the JUN/VET/WOM race taking a crushing win, with Tamana Oliver leading a 1-2 in the women’s event with Anna Cipullo 2nd. The last event was the seniors with Andy Hargroves slipping on a corner with a lap to go and falling just short of that illusive win in 2nd place and team mate Jody Crawforth just behind in 3rd. Following on from last weekend where Matt Hargroves took wins on both the Saturday and the Sunday along with Dan Tulett taking his first win of the Cyclo Cross season.

Next week Ian Field carries on his trip to America, round 3 of the Wessex league takes place in Poole, and the National Team Pursuit champions 2011 look to retain their title in Manchester at the national track championships with the team of; Jon Dibben, Sam Lowe, new signing Luc Hall and Andy Hargroves.
