Another chance for Blythe in Binche-Tournai-Binche

Greg Van Avermaet and Adam Blythe give BMC Racing Team two options for Tuesday’s Binche-Tournai-Binche says assistant Director, Rik Verbrugghe

“The finish is not so easy,” says former Pink jersey in the Giro Verbrugghe. The race is over 200 kilometres and ends with five laps of a 16 km circuit. “With Greg and Adam, we have two possibilities. It could be a finish with a break with some strong guys or it could be a sprint on cobblestones” says Verbrugghe.

Blythe racked up four top five finishes from field sprints in September, including runner-up Sunday on the final stage of Circuit Franco-Belge. Van Avermaet had second-place finishes at GP de Québec and GP de Wallonie last month and was riding in the lead group on Saturday at a rain-soaked edition of Il Lombardia until the final climb.

“Lombardia was a hard race with really bad weather,” Van Avermaet said. “I hope I can recover well which will not be so easy after a hard classic. Hopefully I’ll have good legs for Binche and especially Paris-Tours (Sunday). I hope to end the season with a good feeling. That’s always nice.”

BMC Racing Team Binche-Tournai-Binche Roster (Oct. 2):
Adam Blythe (GBR), Brent Bookwalter (USA), Marcus Burghardt (GER), Yannick Eijssen (BEL), Manuel Quinziato (ITA), Michael Schär (SUI), Greg Van Avermaet (BEL), Larry Warbasse (USA).

Sport Director: Rik Verbrugghe (BEL)
