After a good first season back on the road this year, 25 year old Jo has come to attention of Matrix Fitness who are assembling a strong squad for next season.

“I am very proud to be racing for Matrix next season. I’m really looking forward to working with all of the girls and being part of such a strong and talented team.” Commented Jo on joining the team. “This will be an excellent experience, one where I can learn and grow as a rider. This was my first season back and it’s been brilliant to see the growth of the sport, and I certainly see this team as one of the driving forces behind this growth. It’s good to be a part of that.”

Jo started racing in March and continued through to September before making the quick switch to the track to take part in the National Track Championships. “Jo has been outstanding this season. She’s always been there or there about and its clear to me she already really understands the sport. I’m sure with a team around for the finishes of races, she can achieve a huge amount.” commented Team Manager Stefan Wyman

“From when I first started speaking to Jo, she impressed me with her positive attitude and her confidence about what can be achieved in 2013. We are here to try to help riders reach their potential, and I think with Jo we can do that well.”

Jo joins Jessie Walker who has re-signed for the team for 2013 following her appearance for Great Britain in the World Junior Road Race Championships in Holland. The team will focus a lot of attention on the major races in the UK, and have taken on the promotion of the Bedford 2 Race. “It’s another step taken in our commitment to promote and advance women’s racing in the UK. When I saw Anna Glowinski and the Mule Bar Girls team promoting Velo Jam with the help of Filles-a-Velo, I started to think it was about time we stepped up. So having spoken to race organiser Jon Miles, we have started work with him on the 2013 edition of the race. It a pretty exciting addition to what we do and its going to be great to help Jon keep delivering one of the best events in the UK.”

Annie Simpson takes a liking to Jo’s Sprint jersey at Peterborough and after the finish, was wearing it!
