Team News: Busy times at Matrix Fitness

Two Arrive, Two Stay and Five Depart as Matrix Fitness team for next season becomes clearer

It’s been a busy week for Matrix Fitness as they add two more leading riders to their squad for 2013. Emma Grant and Corrine Hall are the new additions to the squad. “These are two exceptional riders. I couldn’t be happier to be honest and I think they give our squad a different dynamic. Emma is great road rider with a lot of potential as she has shown in the USA during 2012. Strength in classic style race is an area we needed to stronger in. She can be a real threat in tough road races and can combine well with our other riders for sure” commented team manager Stefan Wyman.

“Corrine is one of the best all rounder’s in the UK. She was a major contender in the Johnson Health Tech series overall, a powerhouse in the road races and when she was a guest rider for us in France last year, she proved she can stage race as well. On top of that, she’s a champion on the track. She was racing in support of Lucy Garner in most events but I have no doubt Corrine can lead a team in her own right”

“We can also confirm the departure of five riders from team. It’s never good to see riders leave, but that’s part of the process of building and rebuilding teams. Annie Simpson, Hannah Rich and Sarah Reynolds all leave along with the Dani King and Jo Rowsell. That leaves Hannah Walker and Penny Rowson from last year’s line up who have extended their agreement with the team for another season.” confirmed Wyman.

“It’s a shame to lose riders but we have to look forward and we’ve got an exceptionally strong group of riders together. I’m looking forward to getting them all together for the first time and I hope we can make a real impact in races in the coming season. Everyone is motivated, excited and counting down to the first races.”

“We confirm the final riders very soon including our new Junior rider for 2013, who is following in the footsteps on Jessie Walker as a Junior on the Matrix Fitness team.
