News: Entries for CiCLE Classic Open

Entries now being invited for the Rutland – Melton International UCI 1.2 CiCLE Classic on Sunday 21st April 2013.

The race is open to any Under 23 or Elite category rider as defined by the UCI regulations. (NB – The UCI does not recognise ability categories such as 1st, 2nd or 3rd as applied by British Cycling.)

Last years winner Alex Blain who in 2013 rides for the Raleigh team.

All riders must hold a current year full racing licence issued by British Cycling and be part of a properly constituted Team.

Eligible UCI registered teams:
- UCI Continental teams
- National teams

Eligible British/foreign domestic teams:
- Formal Regional teams
- Club/commercially named sponsored teams

The maximum size of each team should be six, but with a requirement that at least four riders must start the race. At no extra cost, teams may name additional riders at time of entry who may be inserted as substitutes up to the maximum. This substitution may take place at any time up to and including the formal team registration at the race HQ hotel on the afternoon of Saturday 20th April.

With the exception of regional teams, all riders must be registered on their licence with the team that they are named to ride for in the race.

Entry fee: £35 per rider.

Special race regulations:
1. A copy of the licences of all entered riders MUST be presented to the race commissaires at the race HQ hotel on Saturday 20th April between 15.00 and 17.00 hrs. Any team/rider unable to have their licence presented personally may arrange to forward a copy of their licence/s to the race organisation no later than midday on Friday 19th April.

2. Each team should ensure that they are represented at the Team Managers briefing meeting that will take place at the race HQ hotel at 18.00 hrs on Saturday 20th April.

3. Each team represented at the above meeting will be entitled to have an accompanying support car in the race convoy.

4. By advance application to the race organisation, Dinner, bed & breakfast accommodation at a cost of £40 per person sharing, is available to teams and their supporters if required. This accommodation may not necessarily be at the race HQ hotel, but will be reasonably nearby.
