Just In: Cycling 2013 – Pocket Guide to Road Cycling Britain

In the post this morning was a new reference book by Andrew Cornwall; Cycling 2013 – a Pocket Guide to Road Cycling Britain

| Cover Price £10.99 | ISBN 978-0-9571429-1-6 |

The press release says “This unique annual handbook covers every type of road cycling in Britain, from road racing and time trials to Sportives, Audaxes, CTC, Charity events and Leisure rides.”

Now in its second year, it has been fully revised and updated for 2013 to include all the latest information on dates, distances, costs and courses for over 800 cycling events across England, Scotland and Wales.

Author Andrew Cornwell and his team of experienced cyclists have personally ridden many of these events and all their reviews are fully independent of promoters and organisers. Additional chapters provide guides to cycling clubs, bike retailers, national cycling organisations, local campaign groups, holidays and tours, festivals, trade shows, websites and magazines. All in a pocket guide format that is ideal for quick and easy reference.

Cycling 2013 is a perfect handbook for newcomers to the sport, but experienced roadies will also find it packed with useful event information – making it an essential tool to help plan the season. From a Reliability Ride in January to a Mince Pie Run in December, via spring Sportives, summer Night Rides and autumn Hill Climbs, the complete cycling year is covered.

Having a quick scan of the book, I was pleased to see VeloUK.net mentioned in the website section which just happened to be the first page that fell open. Spooky! Back at the front of the book, Major road race events, major British teams and time trials are listed but the big focus of the book will be Sportives which are also listed in the biggest section of the book.

It is a book with 303 pages packed full of information and with it covering such a broad section of anything to do with cycling, it will be an essential guide to have sitting on the desk and probably a second in the car!
