A crash on lap 3 caused the race to be stopped for almost an hour whilst the paramedics attended the scene. Once re-started, Oliver Davies (Private Member), and Paul Cox (Pedal Power Loughborough) broke clear and maintained a 20 second gap for the remaining 2 laps, with Oliver Davies eventually proving to be too strong for his breakaway companion by dropping him in the last 200m and taking 1st place by just a handful of seconds. Thankfully the 2 riders involved in the crash were released from hospital later that day with no serious injuries.
