Cian Jackson provided the best entertainment of the night in the under 10 racing bikes. The talented eight year old attacked from the gun and soon built up a healthy lead. However, the chasing pack were not prepared to let him have it all his own way and they made a serious effort to reel him in. On the final lap it looked like they were going to bridge the gap, but a determined Jackson dug deep and hung on to take a well-deserved maiden victory in the “droppies” class. Ralf Holden edged out Nathan Slack and Drystan Sewell in the bunch sprint for second, with Kiera Prentice the first girl home in an impressive fifth place. Cameron Dudley completed the top six.

In the under 12 racing bikes Aaron Lund outgunned Will Corkill and Jake Wilson in the final rush for the line. Jonty Bregazzi beat Tyler Hannay in the battle for fourth and Jack Christian came in alone to grab sixth. Matthew Cooil got past leading girl Shellan Leeming in the closing stages to claim seventh and Tommy Skillicorn salvaged ninth after recovering from a last lap crash with James Harrison. Both riders were unhurt.

The fast and furious under 16’s race was full of attacks, with a group of seven riders eventually surging ahead to contest the final sprint, which Matthew Draper won. Owen Dudley was second, closely followed by Conor Davies, Will Draper, Thomas Bostock, Michael Moss and Adam Kelly. The top girl was Eleanor Davies in 11th place.

The born 2009 & later age group took to the track first, with Cameron Hounsell ousted Callum Christian to notch up his second successive win. Brad Le Geyt was a lonely third and Kylan Murphy stayed clear of a six-strong chasing group to claim fourth. Jaron Davidson took the gallop for fifth ahead of Samuel Dowson, Graihagh Morgan, Joseph Barker, Stanley Cubbon and Zach Jones.

Series leader Emily Rewsin went from the gun in the novices class and stayed clear to the finish. Tristan Speight was a safe second and Carter Kneale got the better of Jayjay Plowman in the rush for third. The fast finishing Lilee Venables pipped James Corlett for fifth and Abigail Cowell maintained seventh in front of Isabella Clarke. Max Messenger and Abigail Cullington rounded off the top ten leader board.

Myles Le Geyt and Alec Sorby continue to battle for the honours in the born 2008 category, with Le Geyt just having the edge this time. T.J.Teare was a good third and Oliver Cooper overcame Fearne Bregazzi in the tussle for fourth. Ryan Nelson and Joel Long broke away from the main chasing bunch to claim sixth and seventh respectively, while Tiana Kelly got the verdict in the subsequent dash for eighth. Regular top three finisher Ollie Eyres was in the thick of the action from the start but dropped down to 30th place after taking a tumble on the last lap.

In the born 2007 class Cian Howard controlled the race from the front, holding off a strong challenge from Orry Lund on his way to the victory. Rio Kelly overcame Archie Dunn, Florence Griffin and Charlie Scarffe in the sprint for third, with Ed Coole overtaking Cory Corkhill in the final few metres to snatch seventh. Jordan Carter and Jemma Quayle came in together to secure ninth and tenth.

Ivan Sorby was too strong for breakaway companions Drystan Sewell and Owen Collins in the gallop at the end of the born 2006 event. Zachary Dowson beat Connor Moughtin to the line for fourth and Rebecca Cooil took the girls’ prize in a solid sixth place. Harry Corkish and Tom Caine were seventh and eighth, while Tom Darnill recovered from a late start to finish ninth.

Harry Kneen sprinted ahead of fellow frontrunner Tyler Annis at the end of the born 2005 event to bag maximum points for the second week running. Mairi Harrison outpaced Alexander Deering and Teddy Dunn for third, with James Scott seizing sixth ahead of Ella Griffin.

In the born 2004 three lapper Nathan Slack went one better than his second place in the previous round, stealing a march on Kiera Prentice to score his first win of the series. Ben Doyle, Megan Boardman, Annabel Corkill and Amy Quayle wrapped up the top six.

Finally, Tyler Hannay showed a good turn of speed to come out on top in the bunch sprint that decided the outcome of the born 2003 & earlier grouping. Jonty Bregazzi and Matthew Cooil filled the remaining places on the podium.
