Launched 10 years ago, Cyclelife is a partnership between Raleigh and independent dealers and a third new Cyclelife store opened this week showing Raleigh’s determination to increase its market share. Raleigh is working with another nine dealers to reach 12 by the end of the year.

All existing Cyclelife stores will be given the opportunity to be part of the new Cyclelife look and feel or to become Raleigh main dealers.

The good news for those in the cycle racing community is that all full Cyclelife stores will have a comprehensive race bike section. In the department stores, the stock on show will depend on space and the Electric stores will specialise in electric bikes which I’m led to believe there is some exciting news to come from Raleigh.

Cyclelife Bristol on a 3000 sq ft site is the boldest example of the concept. It’s in a former Victorian soap factory and will give customers a wide choice from Raleigh’s range of road, electric and leisure bikes as well as the other inhouse brands such as Haibike & Diamondback. Other Cyclelife stores include ‘On Yer Bike’ Burnley and Cyclelife Electric Wessex in the town of Poundbury.

Raleigh’s Marketing Manager Ben Hillsdon explained : “We want to demonstrate that the buying decision is much more than just having an excellent product. It’s about giving the consumer confidence in every stage of the process”.

“We wanted to create a retail outlet with the backing and peace of mind that comes from such a recognized name. The first thing you’ll notice in the new stores is a clean, modern look fit for today’s discerning cyclists. With clearly presented in-store zones for Raleigh, Diamondback, Haibike and our accessory brands we’re able to give consumers the consummate Raleigh experience”.

“The scope of Cyclelife is open-ended. Whether it be working with a dealer to operate a full concept-store or a significant ‘department’ within a multi-franchise operation or indeed a specialist electric bike outlet, we are now providing effective and valuable support to independent bike dealers of all persuasions”.

Raleigh is also working on a new website and that should be live very soon.
