Img_1715From January 29th, Cult Energy Pro Cycling take on a UCI 1.1 race series containing four separate races on Mallorca as a natural extension of their team training camp.

The races vary from flat to mountainous terrain and according to sports director, Michael Skelde it’s an excellent way of kick-starting the season with a team containing a lot of new riders.

“Besides from training hard during our training camp, we’ll get to know one another and along the way we get to define each rider’s role on the team. Participating in the Mallorca race series allows us to getting into the race rhythm and getting to know the style of racing that we want,” says Skelde.

Besides Mallorca race series, Cult Energy Pro Cycling will participate in many well known pro races throughout February and March: Haut Var, GP Etruschi, Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, Criterium International (which Russell Downing has won a stage in) and Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen.

Yorkshire’s Russell Downing says “the race program is shaping up nicely and with a return to ProConti level, I’m very excited. Starting the season off with Challenge Majorca and then over to Italy for a one day, GP Estruchi. I then have a bit of time at home tweeking the training on home roads ready for a very busy Campaign in the Belgium semi classics starting with Het Niewsblad (Het Volk) on 28th Feb”.
