Team News – Raleigh-GAC 2015 Bike

Team Press Release

Building on the success of the 2014 issue, the world renowned Nottingham company will be supplying the team with its flagship model that carried the riders to victories in the Lincoln GP, Eddie Soens Memorial, two rounds of the Tour Series and more than 100 podium places.

A new, brighter colour scheme adorns the 6.7 kilogram team issue bike with the dark red replaced by a vibrant red, yellow and black steed – more in keeping with the famous tricolour of the historic team. The sleek new colours will make the bike easy to pick out in a packed peloton and provide a welcome change to the predominantly black offerings of many bike manufacturers in recent times.

The Team issue is supplied once again with SRAM Red groupset that proved to be trouble free during the 2014 season and able to withstand the pounding of a professional bike rider. The training bikes are fitted with SRAM Force.

Already the bike has been well received by the riders while out on the Team Raleigh GAC training camp in southern Spain.

Finnish rider Matti Manninen praised the comfort of the bike after spending hours in the saddle. Matti said “It’s a really good ride. It’s stiff, light and comfortable on the long rides that we have been doing. The new colours look really good too and I can’t wait to get out racing with the guys on it.”

The finishing kit is supplied by FSA that again proved itself during last season’s packed program. Cole are supplying the wheels with the Taiwanese company once again providing the Militis with Rollen training wheels and carbon 38mm and 50mm deep section race wheels. All the models proved incredibly light and virtually indestructible.

Schwalbe are providing the rubber and the Telford-based distributor is supplying One tubular tyres and Durango Etape clinchers.

Finally the saddles are provided by Fi’zi:k. The team has a choice of four models to suit their personal preference and all are clad in black acting as a balance to the bright colours of the frame. And Polish pro Karol Domagalski said the bike really gave him the confidence to put the power down. He said “On the descents it feels really stable and lets me take the corners really quick but still feel safe at the same time”.

“It also looks good and shows off the Raleigh name really well.”
