Last away giving the juniors a 6.5 min start was the Pro/Elite25 strong scratch group. Primes every lap kept the juniors hungry for the £10 on offer, Fabien Brenan North City velo mopping up 4 of them!.

It took almost 2 hours before the scratch group made its way to the head of the race splitting in two in the process with pressure coming Michael Ashurst (Champion Systems) and from the One Pro Team and Maddison Genisis.

But the juniors were not giving in with eventual winner Pete Williams making contact with two laps to go on his own. The juniors couldn’t hold him and Pete took the solo victory with the plucky Juniors in the prizes with best placed Robert Scott VCUK PH Mass in 5th.

Rain and sleet made the race the Classic it is in the last half hour and Pete was joined on the podium by team mates Sam Williams and Josh Hunt who caught the juniors in the last few miles.

The winner received the Dave Wilkinson Memorial trophy, a long time Clayton rider who sadly passed away last year doing what he liked best, riding his bike.
