Team News – Achieve Elite Cycling

On Saturday the team dominated the final round of the Highfields Kitchen Spring cup, with Ben Hetherington taking the victory. The 19-year-old from Sedgefield in County Durham, who finished third and fourth in the first two rounds of the series respectively, took the win ahead of Ben Rowe, his team-mate from Stockton, while other Achieve-Northside riders went on to fill eight of the top ten places, with Ben Rowe taking the series overall after consistent performances throughout.

In the support race the team once again performed with Joel Mglynn and Jack Taylor combining to force a 4 man move clear with Joel taking the win and Jack 3rd, behind Richie Allen won the bunch sprint for 5th with three other riders making the top 10.

On Sunday at the Dick Longdragon Memorial in Aberdeenshire, Brad was the team’s sole representative, he managed to escape the bunch early in the race as part of a group of nine, despite many attacks in the final part of the race, going into the final kilometer it was groupo compacto, with Brad opening up the sprint with 300m and taking a well deserved victory by several bike lengths.

This weekend sees the two biggest events of the season so far, the Chorley GP Elite Road Series, and the Hub Architecture 2-day Tour of Northumberland.
