The race was won by Dylan Van Baarle who finished six seconds clear of four man group which in turn was ten seconds clear of the peloton where Opie was sixth in the bunch kick. Chris didn’t have much to say afterwards except, “Such a beautiful race. Such a disappointing result”.

The event marked the first race back for Magnus Backstedt since February and the former winner of Paris Roubaix did well in such a fast race to finish at two minutes. Afterwards he admitted “well, that was hard on only a weeks training. 200k – 45kph average. Feeling a bit crispy now. Loved it. So nice to have a number on my back!”
