Eamonn Deane writes … Overcoming the wet conditions and a “dodgy stomachâ€, Jason Eastwood (Primera/Specialized) claimed another victory at Moreton in Dorset.
Eastwood had felt unwell before the start but when he opened up his sprint, some 200 metres out, only Steve Dring (Echelon-Rotor) could go with him. Dring could hold the wheel but was never going to come round the observant Eastwood.
The pair held a small gap over Roland Tilley (Ridebike.co.uk). Tilley has struggled with illness & crashes this season, 3rd place was a result. Rain fell on the 34 starters throughout the hour long race, a handful of punctures allowing a few an early bath. At the bell the bunch was together and the rain had eased a little but there would be no late escapes.
