from Graham Robins | Wednesday 22nd August

On a warm and pleasant evening on the south coast, Justin, along with fourteen others, got a lap up after about half distance. The initial break went away with twelve riders and then three others worked very hard but lap after lap worked hard and soon latched onto the back.

Once this group was established, they soon caught the back of the bunch and this was almost race over. As the race time counted down, Justin along with Andrew Hargroves (Hargroves Cycles) fresh from training in the Alps, James Wilson (Supernova Cycles) and Phil Dempsey (Aspire Bicycles) built up a lead but were never allowed to get too far away and were pulled back just before the end of the race.

As usual the pace picked up with a couple of laps to go and Justin and Jack Adam (Team Zappi’s) come to the front with Jay Eastwood (Primera Specialized) and James Wilson. Justin won by a bike length with Jay just beating James by a wheel.

Provisional Result
1. Justin Hoy Felt Colbornes 45mins 16secs
2. Jack Adams Team Zappi’s @st
3. Jay Eastwood Primera Specialized @2secs
4. James Wilson Supernova Cycles @st

The earlier third cat race was won by a group getting away and getting a lap on the bunch. After a few laps had passed five riders including Joseph Drain (SDV), Albert Ellison (VC Meudon), Alan Ritchie (Kyklos RT), Joe Donahue (FWCC) and Sam Baker (Wightlink RT) rolled onto the back of the bunch the race was done.

Provisional Result
