News: Matt Brottrill out of British TT Champs

One of the favourites for a medal in the British Time Trial Championships, Matt Brottrill (Drag2Zero) will not be racing due illness.

Matt emailed VeloUk to say “I’m really sorry to say I’m not going to be able to ride the Championships as I’ve come down with tonsillitis.”

Matt explained how the illness has left him with no energy and feeling quite wasted. “I can’t tell you how gutted I am after putting so much into the preparation. The numbers in training from the last two week’s, were the best I’ve done all season.”|

“But I can’t change that now. It’s been one hell of a season, winning my first National senior championship and medals at every distance. Plus over 20 wins for the year. And to top it all off a 46 min 25mile trial ( 5th fastest ever recorded in the UK)

Matt and his wife are also awaiting new arrivals in the family with his wife expecting twins in September 13th and already having a daughter aged four, Matt knows the months ahead are going to be busy!
