15th May – The third round of the  Solihull CC No Frills Circuit Races were held on a cold but clear evening at Tudor Grange (West Midlands)

15th May – On a cold but clear evening which had followed a day of torrential rain the previous day, the Solihull CC No Frills Circuit Races were held at Tudor Grange with the race being the third in the series.

The event for second, third and fourth category riders was particularly hard fought this week with a high speed immediately from the start. The field kept splintering under the pressure and regrouping but it was particularly good to see no negative racing and many riders forcing the pace at the front, all of them eager to break clear.

After an hour of tough racing which drew many positive comments from the spectators, ten riders contested the final sprint for the line which was won by young Elliott “Elmo” Reynolds of the promoting Solihull CC from talented Joe Fox of MG Matrix Pro Cycling who is expected to take part in the Tour Series later in May and June. Third place went to Preslav Dimitrov also of the Solihull CC.

This was a well deserved win for Elmo Reynolds who has quickly gained a reputation for working hard in races and often doing far more than his share of work. He has been unlucky not to get his win before now but if he continues this work rate both he and Preslav Dimitrov have every prospect of joining Joe Fox (previously with the Solihull CC) in the professional ranks.
The next Solihull CC No Frills takes place on Wednesday 22nd May at 7pm at the Tudor Grange Circuit in Solihull.
