Conditions were near perfect at the National Sports Centre last Tuesday night for round six of Team Royal London 360 Isle of Man’s youth league. A total of 366 competitors signed-on for the evening’s racing.

In the opening race for novices regular top three finisher Tiana Kelly led the field home to notch up her maiden win. Mia Walmsley led Aaron Kinvig over the line to secure the runners-up spot and Harrison Skillan won the battle for fourth. Ryan Batty and Hugo Howland-Smith rounded off the top six.

Prolonging his unbeaten run, Myles Le Geyt took the honours for a sixth time in the born 2008 & later category. T.J.Teare and Ollie Eyres filled the remaining places on the podium, with top girl Fearne Bregazzi producing another good ride to grab fourth. George Kinnish ousted Colby Newbold for fifth and Lennon Moore pipped Summer Peters, Dylan Larrosa and Alec Sorby for seventh. Newcomer Stanley Cubbon did well to finish mid-field in 22nd spot.

Cian Howard attacked from the gun in the born 2007 class, taking the chequered flag with a clear advantage over Orry Lund in a solid second place. Archie Dunn was a lonely third ahead of Dexter Russell and George Kearns. Leading Girl Jemma Quayle ousted Zack Bellhouse for sixth and Florence Griffin came from behind to snatch eighth from Ben Davies. The fast finishing Charlie Morris completed the top ten leader board.

The 2006 event was run at a fast pace, with Cian Jackson stringing the field out on his way to a fine solo victory. Zachary Dowson held off a strong challenge from Harry Corkish in the fight for second and Corey Peters maintained station in fourth place. Harry Eyres and Drystan Sewell were a safe fifth and six, while Jenson Artus got past Logan Glover in the closing stages to claim seventh. Sophie Smith was the best girl in 13th spot.

In the born 2005 age group Niall Colquitt escaped from a seven-strong leading group to record his sixth success of the season and retain his 100% record. Harry Kneen won the sprint for second ahead of Oliver Corkish, Mairi Harrison, Oliver Sykes, Oscar Lace, Teddy Dunn and Chloe Dillon. Harry Boyle and Frank Kinnish came in separately to wrap up the top ten.

Making his move on the final circuit, Zac Walker forged ahead of his three breakaway companions to grab a clear win in the born 2004 three lapper. Dillon Dowson pipped Ralf Holden and Cameron Dudley for second, with Billy Kennedy edging out Ben Boyle and Kiera Prentice for fifth. Annabel Corkill overcame James Devereau in the tussle for eighth and Toby Craig was too strong for Aimee Christian, Amy Quayle and Nathan O’Connor in the rush for tenth.

Percy Hampton held off a determined Jonty Bregazzi in the final sprint to bag maximum points in the born 2003 class. Thomas Skillicorn was third closely followed by Jack Christian, Matthew Cooil, Matthew Black, Joshua Glover, Tyler Hannay and Jamie Gelling. Foxdale’s Freddie Ralston snatched tenth from first girl Darcy Cain.

Five riders were in contention at the end of the born 2002 & earlier grouping, with James Harrison eventually taking the honours ahead of Lucas Mudie, Kaitlin Slack, Arron Lund and Corrin Leeming. Joseph Corkish spearheaded chasers Callum Bratty and Emma Draper over the line to claim sixth.

In a repeat of the finish to the 2003 event, Percy Hampton outsprinted Jonty Bregazzi to pick up his second win of the night in the under 10 racing bikes. Zac Walker was third and Matthew Cooil produced his best performance of the series so far to take fourth. Matthew Black and Jack Christian were a close fifth and sixth, with Niall Colquitt the top under 8 rider again in seventh place. Darcy Cain, Kiera Prentice and Mairi Harrison were the best three girls in 15th, 17th and 21st positions respectively.

Charlie Gibson came out on top in the under 12 racing bikes, outsprinting Max Walker, Adam Scarffe, Tosh Teare, Emily Bridson, Will Corkill and Conor Gelling in the final charge.

Teare made several valiant attempts to get away but in the end had to settle for fourth place.

In the following under 16’s race Nathan Draper took the victory by the narrowest of margins, edging out series leader Matthew Bostock in the dash for the line. Owen Dudley was third, Matthew Draper fourth, the ever improving Joe Harris fifth, Elizabeth Holden sixth and best U/14 rider Conor Davies seventh. Nathan Hinks led the rest of the field home in eighth spot.
