Organiser Roland Summerlin writes … Tried something different with the handicapping tonight. Only two groups, first group with women, fourth cats and third cats who had no points in this series so far.

The scratch group was made up of third cats with points from the series so far, the two second cats and Kristian Woolf. This group gave the front group three minutes and for a long time it looked like the scratch group would get nowhere near as the front group worked well.

The gap came down only by seconds a lap. The front group was shelling riders as were the scratch group, although it was the third cats struggling. With four laps to go the gap was still 50secs but the front group had shrunk to eight riders.

With a lap to go the front group had dropped birthday boy Peter Kucak who hung on by a whisker to claim eighth and his first ever BC points, what a present. The scratch group finished twenty seconds behind the winner and first time at Rockingham rider James Hyde. Full result to follow.
