A good fast evenings racing with an encouraging increase in the senior numbers. Krisian Woolf , Alex Wise and Mike Broadwith gave series leader John McClelland a hard time with numerous attacks and two of the most interesting races were the AB Block Handicaps where the Group B riders were given 250m start over the A riders over 10 laps.
In Race A the A riders set off at a cracking pace and caught the B group with 4 laps remaining but Alistair Luxford from the B group attacked in the final lap and took the victory. In Race B Kristian Woolf put in an amazing burst in the final lap to reel in the remains of the B group in the final metres after a spirited ride by the B group contingent who held off all but one of the chasers.
The 10 mile was a war of attrition and only six riders were left to sprint out the final lap – Kristian Woolf recording his third win of the evening Dave Legrys won the 10 lap scratch for group B riders in preparation for the forthcoming Masters Track Championships
Youth numbers were lower than usual due to the Circuit series the following day at Millton Keynes.
