Horton attacked before the final left-hander, opening a small but decisive gap that would not be closed. Jay Eastwood led the charge as Horton started fade but it was too late.
A full field and a fast race on a warm, still evening saw the race quickly come together but not before Horton had spent a lap off the front, he was obviously feeling good.
Next Thursday’s race is the Mid-Summer championship, extended by 30 minutes to take advantage of the light. The extra distance may favour a breakaway , Horton had the courage tonight, non-sprinters take note!
