Jonathan Parker, Ben Wimpory, Alan Thynne and Chris Bax all braved strong winds to pull of impressive performances. The outright winner of the day was Jonathan, who completed the course in 55.12 this equates to an average speed of over a 27mph.

Standing next to him on the podium was team-mate Ben who took 2nd overall in 56.45, a 26.4mph average. Next home for the team was Alan in 58:07, this speedy performance earned him 5th place overall. Chris Bax whizzed home in 1:01:25, which was good enough for an impressive 16th place. The combination of Jonathan’s, Ben’s and Alan’s times saw the trio storming home with the team prize.

A special thanks must go to Bob Giles of PMR@Toachim House, who organised the event.

The previous day also saw success for the riders who took part in the Thanet RC 10-mile TT. The talk of the day was the immense cross-winds which saw people having to bring their bike-handling skills to Fowlmead Country Park in Deal.

The unstoppable Jonathan Parker, was not going to let a little bit of weather get in his way and once took top honours. He rode a 21.42. Nipping at his heels was the ever improving Chris Fennell, who has not let his recent 2nd place in the junior national 25 go to his head! The stealthy 17-year-old took the 2nd spot in 22:08. Ben was not far behind the pair in 22:19. Their time saw them taking another team prize.

Despite dealing with the pressures of organising the 25 for the following day, Bob Giles rode a solid 25:07. Overall it was a great weekend for the team, with every member doing his team colours proud!
