The threat of rain, holidays and other events contrived to reduce the senior and youth A numbers who arrived for the meeting. The programme was rearranged with the Senior A and B plus Youth A riders combined into one group for the four main races of the evening.
John McClelland notched up 4 victories and new comer Jason Burrill was the top placed Senior B rider in the combined Devil. Most impressive rider of the evening was youth A Connor Woodford who, elevated to join in with the senior ranks, worked hard in every event scoring a well deserved second place in the Block Handicap jumping on McClellands wheel in the final dash for the line and then second place in the B Devil.
He was in the leading group in the 10 mile but lost contact in the last two laps but went home tired but happy at the close.
The two Youth groups had a busy but rewarding evening as in both the BC and CDE events there was a different winner in every race. Niall Dawkins won the verdict in a close finish in the closing 6 lap handicap in the 13 rider field in the B/C group while Owen Williams won the race for the line in the CDE 4 lap Handicap with Lauren Higham in second place but was rewarded by taking over the series lead.
New comer Milly Knight, a product of the East Region Superclub Sunday sessions, and riding in her first ever track league race won the opening 3 lap handicap to make a good start to her racing career.
