Big ambitions for Starley Primal racing team with men’s and women’s team looking for success in 2014

RST Cycle Clothing & Trigon Bikes

In what looks like a merger in many respects between the Maxifuel and SpinRotorPrimal teams of 2013, comes a new team headed up by James Smith and Rod Freeman and sponsored by starleybikes.com and primaleurope.com

“We’d like to be one of the most competitive British teams season,” Smith told BBC South West Sport “and we’re well-placed to do that. We did the complete Tour Series last season and came 10th out of 10 teams but it was a good opportunity for us to dip our toes in at the highest level – and it was a great learning curve for us to know what we need to move forward. We now want to compete at the highest domestic level and our targets are for the men’s team to finish in the top five for the Tour Series, and for the women’s team, we’d like to be competitive in the Tour of Britain – just to be in it will be a good start”.

Women’s Team
Jennifer Taylor – Scottish road cycling champion 2013, Jennifer has had a stellar year with multiple victories culminating in the Scottish road Championship title.

Eileen Roe – World class rider and powerhouse, Eileen will be a high value asset to the team.

Jane Barr – Represented in Scotland in the road race at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi 2010, Represented Scotland in European Stage Races 2010,2011, Double Scottish Road Race Champ 2010 & 2011, Top 20 in British Road Race Champs 2010, 2011, 7th Overall in British Road Race Series 2010.

Anneliese Heard – Double World Triathlon Champion – She competed in her first triathlon at the age of eight, winning the Cannock Chase under nine category. She was crowned British Juvenile Champion at the age of 12. She became World Junior Champion in 1999 and 2000. Her Commonwealth Games debut came in Manchester in 2002 where she finished ninth. Anneliese was again a member of the Welsh triathlon team at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, Australia, this time she finished eleventh. She turned to professional cycling in 2007, riding for the same team as Nicole Cooke & the Swiss Univega Raleigh Lifeforce Pro Cycling Team.
