Professionally, Hallam was previously the UK MD of Philips Telecom, later to hold a similar role in Alcatel, before becoming CEO of the NASDAQ-listed company Brite Voice Systems Inc.. He was Executive Director of Plowman Craven & Associates for 4 years and has held a number of Non Executive Roles in UK and Ireland in recent years.

But his life has been steeped in cycling. National Championship organiser as a teenager, Hallam became a Non Executive Director of British Cycling, resigning only to become Chief Executive of Cycling Ireland for a two year term.

He raced successfully himself, and his brother, Ian Hallam, became a triple Olympian and medalled in two of those Games. He also won Commonwealth Games Gold medals 3 times and a record 45 National titles. His son Ben became national junior pursuit and timetrial champion and has represented Great Britain at junior and under-23 level, later progressing to complete the Tour of Britain as a professional before joining Bespoke Cycling as head of its performance laboratory.

In his new role at Cosaveli, Hallam will be overseeing the expansion of the Trois Etapes pro-am series as it stages its inaugural Giro d’Italia edition, as well as its third Tour de France event.

With $4.5 million raised in the first two years alone, Cosaveli will look to utilise Hallam’s consulting expertise from his private sector ventures and experience with not-for-profit governing bodies in order to grow the event successfully, raise the bar for corporate participation and generate even higher totals for charity.

Hallam commented on his appointment: “I believe that the potential for Cosaveli to have a scaleable product is huge. To have the opportunity to use my expertise of growing businesses applied to a field that I am passionate about, and have enjoyed since my teens, represents an exciting, but challenging, prospect.”

Niels Bryan-Low, CEO of Cosaveli, added: “With two Trois Etapes events on the calendar, 2014 is set to be a huge year for Cosaveli and in Stuart we are certain we’ve found the ideal Non-Executive director to take us forward successfully.”
