More known for his cyclo-cross exploits, Frenchman Matthieu Boulo is looking forward to making his name on the road with Raleigh. Jean Vantalon introduces us to Matthieu Boulo:

Matthieu Boulo Cross Interview

Jean: Matthieu, why did you join the Team Raleigh?
Matthieu: I had several contacts this this year for 2014, but nothing firm really. So I was in contact with Eric Berthou. Raleigh is a legendary team and I am delighted to have been able to sign for this season 2014. I remember Raleigh in the Tour de France too and with lots greats champions.

Jean: What are your goals ?
Matthieu: Objectives are at the beginning of the season with Tour of Med and Tour du Haut Var. I also checked out the Tro Bro Leon and a similar race in England, the Melton Classic. Then there are the important races in the calendar for Raleigh where the racing in England will also be important individually and collectively.

Jean: How do you find the British cycling?
Matthieu: British cycling is at the forefront globally as is their preparation. I am very happy to be part of Team Raleigh for this season.

Jean: You were second in the World Cup 2011 Cyclo cross and fourth at the World Championships U23 same year. What are the benefits of cyclo-cross when you’re racing the road?
Matthieu: Cyclo-Cross brought me better bike handling. It has also helped me to know my limits well and recreate the same effort in Time Trials.

Jean: Soon you will ride Tour Med and Tour of Haut Var with Raleigh; how is the form?
Matthieu: The form is coming! This bodes well for both Tour of Med and Tour du Haut Var. I am looking forward to do battle and see where I stand in relation to everyone.
