LITHERLAND CIRCUIT LEAGUE (Founded 30th September 2009)

PRESS RELEASE
We are very pleased again to announce that High on Bikes will be sponsoring the League Series for this year. The first evening’s racing this year will commence on Wednesday, the 9th April 2014 and will continue every Wednesday evening until the 20th August 2014.

The programme of events for junior and senior riders will slightly change for this year the details of which are shown below:

— Youth categories D and E for girls and boys TOS: 6:15 pm
– Youth categories A, B and C for girls and boys TOS: 6:30 pm
– Male Senior & Junior 3rd and 4th categories  and all Women categories including Junior Ladies (25 minutes duration) TOS: 7:00 pm

—  Elite, First, Second and Third categories and First, Second and Third Junior categories  (50 minutes duration) TOS: 7:30 pm

The minimum five minutes warm up period prior to the start of the events which was introduced last year will be continued in 2014 but competitors must wait until the Commissaire at the entrance/exit to the circuit gives the OK for riders to enter onto the course.

After each evening’s racing, the Litherland Circuit League Recorder will award points as per the Litherland League Points table which is shown on the MCDG website. The Registration fees and entry fees for 2014 will also, be shown on the Merseyside Cycling Development Group (MCDG) website:

http://www.merseysidecyclingdevelopment.org/

You can also, obtain them from the League Secretary, Andy Gibson.

Please remember it is cheaper for riders to register if, their club/racing team is registered to the League.

Before any rider will be allowed to sign on, they must have registered with the League and have been allocated a registration number as well as a race number. To encourage even more riders in Youth D and E categories for both girls and boys to attend there is again for the 2014 season free registration for these two categories for the league events. Due to legal and insurance matters, the League will still require a League Registration Form and their parent/guardian will have to complete and sign the registration form in the appropriate section.

Although riders can register on their first week’s attendance at Litherland Sports Park it would be appreciated if, competitors could register by post which should be sent to the League Treasurer (address details shown on the registration form) as early as possible so that there is not too many hold ups on the first couple of nights of racing in the series when there are severe light restrictions.

Youth A riders with a current BC dispensation will be allowed to ride in the final event of the evening providing they have obtained the Chief Commissaire’s approval prior to signing on and before being allocated a competitor’s number for that event. These riders will be classified as part of the 3rd category junior table for the League points competition.
