In the novices race Casey McDonald edged out breakaway partner Alfie Tummon for the win. Leading girl Zarina Honeyman was a safe third and Hugo Howland-Smith stayed clear of chasers Joshua Cross and Jayjay Plowman to secure fourth. Liam Mills overtook Amber Buchanan in the closing stages to snatch seventh and Max Messenger got the better of Herbie Hampton-France in the tussle for ninth. Harvey Pitts and Alex Montgomery rounded off the top twelve.

A fast start split the field in the born 2009 & later age group. Eddie Dillon rode clear of the pack to take the victory ahead of Cameron Hounsell and Jarno Davidson, who were second and third respectively. Brad Le Geyt, Kylan Murphy and Callum Christian completed the top six leader board, with Florrie Thomas taking the girls’ honours in a good eighth place.

Alec Sorby dropped travelling companion Myles Le Geyt on the final lap to bag maximum points in the born 2008 class. A tiring Le Geyt held off the fast closing duo of Ollie Eyres and T.J.Teare for second, while Freddie Griffin maintained a safe fifth place. Fearne Bregazzi was the first girl home in sixth spot and Oliver Cooper came through the field to grab a well deserved seventh.

In the born 2007 race winner Cian Howard outgunned Orry Lund in the dash for the chequered flag. Florence Griffin broke free from the chasing bunch to claim third in front of fellow escapees Archie Dunn, Jordan Carter and Rio Kelly, who crossed the line in that order. Charlie Scarffe outsprinted Ellana Skillan and Jemma Quayle for seventh, while Ben Davies got the better of Olivia Quayle and Harry Deering for tenth.

Cian Jackson led from start to finish in the born 2006 event. Ivan Sorby stayed with Jackson all the way but was unable to get past and had to settle for a solid second ahead of Owen Collins, Drystan Sewell and Zachary Dowson, who all trailed in separately. Samuel Devereau beat Adam Horsey to the line for sixth and Imogen Cooper took the girls’ prize, pipping Rebecca Cooil in the sprint for 11th position.

A successful solo attack on the penultimate lap was good enough for Niall Colquitt to seal a comfortable win in the born 2005 class. Harry Kneen led Mairi Harrison and Oliver Corkish home for second, while Tyler Annis ousted Teddy Dunn and Chloe Dillon in the scrap for fifth. Thomas Kilgour, Ella Griffin and Luca Moretta wrapped up the top ten.

Zac Walker came from behind to outfox breakaway partner Dillon Dowson in the sprint at the end of the born 2004 three lapper. Nathan Slack kept Ben Boyle and James Devereau at bay in the rush for the final podium position, with Cameron Dudley fending off a strong challenge from Kiera Prentice to take sixth. In the following born 2003 & earlier grouping Percy Hampton outpaced Jonty Bregazzi and Emma Draper in a closely fought contest for the number one spot. Matthew Cooil took fourth in another tight finish with Corrin Leeming and Tyler Hannay.

In the racing bike classes Zac Walker scored his second success of the night, outsprinting Niall Colquitt and Dillon Dowson to win the under 10 category. Ivan Sorby was the first under 8 rider in eighth place and Kiera Prentice the top girl in 13th position.

The under 12’s race ended in a bunch sprint, with Charlie Gibson powering to the front to take the victory. Aaron Lund was second followed by Percy Hampton, James Harrison , Will Corkill and Tommy Skillicorn. The top girl was Charlie Moss in ninth place.

With the light fading fast, the under 16’s event was shortened to 15 laps. Matthew Draper, Conor Davies, Owen Dudley and William Draper went from the gun and were never seen again. Will Draper was eventually dropped and Dudley retired with cramp, leaving Matt Draper and Davies to fight over the win, which Draper took in a blistering sprint finish. Will Draper was a lonely third and Jimmy Bostock did well to edge out Dan Scarffe and Adam Kelly for fourth. Eleanor Davies outsprinted Tara Ferguson to pick up the girls’ prize in seventh position.
