News – Scottish Women’s Road Race Series for 2014

Whether you have entered a race before or not, the first round of this exciting new series could be the ideal place to take the bull by the horns. Round one kicks off in Glasgow on May 10th and is organised by Glasgow Green Cycling Club (GGCC). The 8 loop, 4.25 mile circuit just south of Glasgow adding up to approximately 39 miles of racing. This course is fast & has an equal amount of ascent & descent, so even the first time racer can tackle this course in confidence. There are a few spaces left for this opening round, so get your entries in quickly.

This brand new series supported by Scottish Cycling has races featured across the country including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen with BC points available for those who collect. Without the distraction of different race categories across the day with both male and female events, women take priority as the only gender permitted to enter.

Organised by experienced road clubs that are local to the routes, the courses average 50 miles of fully marshalled, smooth flowing public roads that will test the experienced rider as well as offer a real challenge to the first time racer.

The winners of each event will receive a fabulous custom designed “blue jersey” from Endura (perfect for the summer weather). There will also be podium ceremonies with prizes, flowers and even a glass of bubbly to congratulate you and the other riders on a race well ridden.

Entering could not be easier, just follow the links below, fill in your details and off you go. It’s fast, uncomplicated & with instant email confirmation, you could be looking forward to racing on the road. Thrashing the opposition or simply testing your mettle in your first real race.
