Club News – PB for Medway Velo’s Dominic Campbell
(thanks Sally…)

Dom is the first MVC rider to break the hour in a solo event this year and his road bike set up with TT cockpit shows you don’t need all the gear to produce amazing times and it isn’t ‘about the bike.’

Also producing a seasons best was Rob Kennison who just seems to be getting faster on every outing. Rob stormed home in 1:00:35. Both Dom and Rob finished in the top third of a full field of 120 riders.

Next past the chequered flag for the team was Ian Stephens, also riding a solo seasons best in 1.02.22. Closely behind was Shaun Robinson with a 1:05:37. Though happy with his ride he addmitted feeling somewhat tired after a fast 100kms the day before.

Chasing Shaun was Alex Woolley in 1:07:44 – another personal best! New member Neil Ord, who was on the reserve list, managed to get a ride when someone withdrew and he completed the course in 1.14:40. Everyone was pleased to see Ernie Mackey racing again, making his seasons debut in 1:25:45.

The event was win by Kev Tye of Velo refined Aerosmiths in 52.56.
