News – George Samuel Memorial Hove Park Crits
The George Samuel Memorial Hove Park Crits Series 2014 goes from strength to strength with race 2 in the series of 4 proving to be one of the most explosive so far. It is shaping up to be a battle royal with some of London’s top cyclists taking on the South Coast’s best bike riders for the overall title.
Race 3 takes place on Friday 13th June and this year sees the introduction of a woman only event which starts at 6.46pm (just after the 4th Cat race starts). It is open to 2, 3 and 4 Cat riders and will run for 30 minutes plus 5 laps.
Riders can go to the BCF website and use the ‘event finder’ function to see more details and to enter online. Please note the women’s race will only run as part of race 3 for this series. The Cat 4 only and women’s only races will of course be followed by the 2nd/3rd Category contest run over 50 minutes plus 5 laps.
With a good crowd always in attendance it is a fabulous series of bike racing with lots of action and deserves all the local support it can get. There are numerous prizes on offer for all categories as well as the prestigious George Samuel Memorial Trophy that goes to the winner of the 2/3 race series.
Don’t forget that this year we have online entry for all the races in the 2014 series. Go to the British Cycling Federation website, find the races using the ‘Event Finder’ link and you will be able to enter the races online – simple.
The organisers would like to remind all Cat 2/3 riders that BCF regulations must be adhered to and registered club kit must be worn. With regards to Cat 4 riders we understand that some riders may be new to racing and may not be able to source club kit but we would be grateful if every attempt is made to wear BCF registered kit.
The final date in the series is 4 July (start times 6.45pm)
See you on the start line!
