Top 10 finish for Smith in strong field
Medway Velo CC rider Steve Smith earned a respectable 9th place in a 120-rider strong field at the DeLaune 10-mile time trial held on the Isle of Grain on Saturday, 31 May 2014. Steve, who was one of 7 MVC taking part clocked an impressive 22.34 minutes, a 26.6mph average.

Next home was Shaun Robinson who completed the course in 24.17 with Phil Booth pulling yet another PB out the bag in 24.42. Nipping at his heels was Lee Pilcher who rode a 24.51 with Alex Woolley chasing him by the narrowest of margins in 24.43. Mark Barton’s training has also been paying off returning a 25.46 and 74-year-old Ernie Mackey stormed home in 30.40.

Dom’s makes his road racing debut
MVC youngster Dominic Campbell showed his is more than a one trick pony when he turned his hand to road racing this weekend. The 23-year-old who has shown top form in a number of time trials this season decided to try his luck in the Surrey League criteriums held at the Cyclopark, Gravesend on Sunday, 1 June. Official results are still being compiled but provisional results report Dom earned 3rd or 4th place in a large field of 4th Cat riders.

2-up top 5 finish for Rob and Lee
Rob Kennison and Lee Pilcher teamed up for the 10-mile 2-up time trial held at Fowlmead Country Park in Deal on Thursday, 29 May. Good conditions resulted in the pair taking 4th place in a 36-team strong field. The completed the court in 23.11.

Also riding was Sally Smith who rode with 11-year old 4t+ Velo rider Cameron Coxon. The duo clocked a 27.31, just under a 22mph average, an impressive time for the up and coming youngster which was quicker that some adult teams!
