News – Winning Weekend for Endura
Last weekend saw the population of Scotland – home of cycle apparel brand Endura – celebrate an unofficial start to the summer with scorching sunshine across the country but the apparel brand had a host of other reasons to celebrate with numerous Endura clad riders tasting victory at the very highest levels around the world.

The most notable came from Nairo Quintana supported by his Movistar Team team-mates who, riding in Endura kit produced in the company’s state of the art production facilities in Scotland, delivered a stunning victory in the 97th Giro d’Italia.
Following a fantastic start to the season this 17th win for the team places Quintana at the top of the UCI’s WorldTour individual standings and Movistar Team second overall in the team rankings. This prestigious win is a dream come true for the team and for the Scottish clothing brand who launched a three year long deal with Movistar Team in January 2014.
Back in the UK National Time Trail champion and fellow Movistar Team rider Alex Dowsett was in record breaking form riding a scorching 17m 20s ride in the ECCA 10 mile Time Trial Championships. This may have been a relatively low key event but in setting a new UK record shows the form Dowsett has going in to the main part of the season and demonstrates the how quick the new Endura Speedsuits, developed in conjunction with aero experts Drag2Zero, can be.
Following the race Alex commented “Endura and Drag2Zero are putting in a lot of effort to make the fastest suits possible and I think the results are showing from that work†and highlighted the beautiful, unrestrictive fit and lack of seams.

Team NetApp-Endura also saw success with Sam Bennett winning the fifth and final stage of the 35th Bayern Rundfahrt in Nuremberg and taking the sprinter’s jersey. It was a great race for the team with two riders finishing in the overall top ten; Leopold König, who came in third in the queen stage, finished fourth, and Jan Barta, who had the second fastest ride in the individual time trial, finished sixth overall.
Only 30 miles down the road from Endura Headquarters, Peebles in the Scottish borders was the location for Endura sponsored MTB legend Tracy Moseley’s win in the second round of the Tweedlove Festival Enduro World Series (for which we were also official clothing partners), beating tough competition including round one winner Anne Caro Chausson. Tracy dominated the weekend event winning every stage on the technical and demanding Scottish trails, putting her in the best place to retain the series title she won in 2013.

Still in the mud, Betch.nl Superior Brentjens team were in action at home in the Netherlands, where Jeroen Boelen won in the XCO in Heeswijk, and at the UCI MTB World Cup in Albstadt, Germany where Ukranian Yana Belomoina came second in the U23 XCO and on Friday, Anne Terpstra finished fourth in XCE in her first appearance in a World Cup Eliminator final.
Endura’s commitment to sponsorship across a wide range of pro riders is key to the brands growing success. Feedback from top level athletes is combined with science based research from wind tunnel, climatic chamber and dynamic pressure testing to ensure product development is continually ahead of the curve. The race winning garments and technologies developed are then fed in to the Endura range available for any rider to buy through a growing number of retailers worldwide.

Endura’s director, Jim McFarlane commented “Looking through the results this weekend it brought home not only how much Endura supports cycling across a range of different disciplines, but also how much it’s feeding into our product development process. For every result listed there is a story behind the scenes of working with these riders to develop ever-better products that help them deliver results. The most exciting thing for me is to follow those innovations as they make their way into our main range products that are used day in, day out across the globe by people who get the benefit from all that work done at elite level.â€
