Thanks to generous sponsorship from Monmouthshire and other businesses, the organiser of the British 2014 Road Championships, Bill Owen has secured live TV coverage for the event.

The British Road Championships will be shown on British Eurosport, with highlights of the women’s road race and the last two hours of the men’s road race being broadcast live on Sunday 29 June.

The championships also incorporate the British Time Trial Championships which take place on Thursday 26 June. A full highlights programme featuring both the men’s and women’s time trials and road races will be shown on ITV4 on Sunday 29 June and will be available in full on You Tube from Wednesday 1 July.

British Eurosport is available via BT TV, Sky, Virgin Media and UPC Ireland and is also available online, on mobile and other devices via Eurosport Player: www.eurosportplayer.com.

All four of the 2013 champions, Mark Cavendish, Lizzie Armitstead, Alex Dowsett and Joanna Rowsell, will be in Monmouthshire to defend their titles in a world class field that features numerous world and Olympic champions including Laura Trott and Welshman Geraint Thomas.

The time trials will take place on Thursday 26 June, starting and finishing at the Celtic Manor resort. The elite men will race against the clock over two laps of the 21 kilometre course while the elite women and under 23 men will compete over one lap of the same course.

The road races will take place on Sunday 29 June and will start and finish in Abergavenny Town Centre. The elite and under 23 men’s course is 186 kilometres and the elite and under 23 women’s course is 101 kilometres.
