The series has been set up in collaboration with seven local cycling clubs and takes place over six weeks on Wednesday evenings at Trinity Park in Ipswich. The eevnt has races for everyone, Go-Ride training for the youngsters, a Go Race and Men’s racing. Every year, the series improves and once again we are seeing record numbers of riders with upwards of 180 riders each evening.
The series also organises a full day of racing on a Saturday. This year’s event takes place on Saturday 12th July.
The programme, which starts at 9.30am and runs all day, includes races for under 8’s through to ‘masters’ (those age 40+ years) and is open to boys, girls, men and women, novices and experienced club cyclists alike.
The Suffolk Cycle Racing Series is looking forward to providing the following events, all on their own closed road circuit.
Go-Ride Racing U12/U10/U8 – 09:30
Go-Ride Racing U16/U14 – 09:55
4th Cat only – 10:40
Masters C (40+) – 11:40
3/4 (Women only) – 13:30
3/4 -14:30
Go-Race – 15:30
The day promises to be a perfect opportunity to try group racing for the first time, returning to the sport or progressing on without the inconvenience of traffic. The event comes on the back of the 2014 Suffolk Cycle Racing Series which provides midweek closed circuit races and has once again seen record entries.
No pre-entry required with prizes for each event supported by Maglia Rosso Cycle Centre and Destination Café.
The women’s races on week 6 (16th July) and the Saturday race (12th July) also form part of the new women’s league WERL – details can be found here: www.womenseasternracingleague.co.uk
