News – Entries Wanted for Track Meet

The date has been specially chosen to give masters riders a full endurance workout in the build-up to the European masters track championships, LVRC championships and world championships. Manor Abbey Stadium at Halesowen is a quarter-mile tarmac outdoor track just off junction 3 of the M5 to the west of Birmingham. Entries are available here (online entry only).

“The goal is to run masters category-based racing with a variety of endurance events,” said organizer William Fotheringham.

“That means a short scratch, devil-take-the-hindmost and short points race, plus a longish scratch to round the day off. To keep things running briskly it will be hard to fit in any sprint events unfortunately.”

“We don’t get many chances to compete against each other outside the championships in a relaxed atmosphere and hopefully this will provide that. I’ve set a closing date of the night before the race, but it would be good to have entries well before that so that we have some idea of numbers.”
