Thanks to Eddie White, The Roger Martin Memorial Cup will be presented to the winner of the E/1/2/3 race at Mallory Park on Saturday 26th July.

Roger was a great supporter of events in the East Midlands especially so at Mallory Park where many people enjoyed walks around the circuit with him while he was taking photos of the evening races. Roger, with his son Simon, set up the popular Veloriders website where his photos would be eagerly awaited following the previous nights race.

The Cup was first presented in 2007 with Tom Barras being the victor, 2008 winner was Steven Adams, 2009 winner was the flying Dutchman Jeroen Janssen while the last time the cup was presented was in 2010 where the winner was Kieran Frend.

Organiser Pete Mooney says hopefully this will be the first of many annual events at Mallory Park for The Cup where many of us have fond memories of Roger. The E/1/2/3 race is the final event of a packed programme of races for all categories including a separate event for ladies – full details here.
